About the Job
BlackRock is hiring Software Engineers to join the Strategic Initiatives Team within Outssource Platform Services. The team focuses on building innovative technology solutions, reengineering business processes, and developing AI-powered platforms that improve scalability and efficiency across BlackRock's middle-office outsourcing ecosystem. Engineers collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to build next-generation financial technology solutions.
In this role, you'll develop scalable software using modern technologies such as Python, Java, AI frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, and the Aladdin platform. You'll work in an agile engineering environment, contribute to AI-driven solutions, solve complex technical problems, optimize business processes, and collaborate with globally distributed teams while continuously learning new technologies and engineering practices.
Job Overview
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 1+ year of hands-on experience with Python in software development or related projects.
- At least 1+ year of experience with AI open-source frameworks such as Google ADK, LangGraph, or LangChain.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), software design principles, and design patterns.
- Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar DevOps and version control tools.
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and related collaboration tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of deliverables, and collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for learning new technologies.
- Experience or familiarity with AI, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, or cloud-native technologies will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable software solutions, including AI-powered applications, to improve business processes and platform scalability.
- Build innovative technology solutions for BlackRock and more than 20 client organizations using the Aladdin ecosystem.
- Develop enterprise-grade applications using technologies such as Python, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, and modern AI frameworks.
- Collaborate with users, product managers, designers, and software engineers to transform business requirements into production-ready software solutions.
- Develop clean, maintainable, testable, and high-quality software while following agile development practices and engineering standards.
- Analyze complex technical and business problems, optimize processes, and implement innovative AI-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, DevOps workflows, continuous integration, and software deployment while ensuring high engineering quality.
- Work closely with globally distributed teams, contribute to open-source initiatives where applicable, and continuously learn emerging technologies to drive innovation.
Skills Required
- Programming Languages – Strong hands-on experience with Python and working knowledge of Java for building scalable enterprise applications.
- Artificial Intelligence – Experience with AI frameworks such as Google ADK, LangGraph, LangChain, prompt engineering, AI workflows, and intelligent automation solutions.
