Google has announced the opening of Google Data Center Intern positions in India for students with an interest in Linux, networking, hardware, and data center infrastructure. The role is part of the Hardware Operations team, which works on Google’s infrastructure technology.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be studying a Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or higher education in Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Engineering, or equivalent fields.
- Must have experience installing a network or Linux.
- Expected to graduate by 2028.
- Must be available full-time for the 12-week internship.
- Must be authorized to work in India.
- Must be available for relocation to either Mumbai or Delhi.
- Must reside in India for the duration of the internship.
- Must be proficient in the English language.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting repair, enhancement, decommissioning, or deployment activities, as well as cabling and related tasks.
- Recognizing patterns that lead to machine failures.
- Reporting bugs and working with remote teams to resolve technical issues.
- Supporting various activities for infrastructure deployment and maintenance for data centers.
- Providing support for infrastructure, both existing and new.
- Configuring and troubleshooting Linux operating systems.
- Assisting with critical or escalated technical problems affecting large numbers of machines.
- Working with English-speaking customers and partners.
- Supporting hardware and infrastructure-related activities in the data center.
- The role includes heavy lifting and physical work. Therefore, candidates should be able to lift or carry up to 50 lb (23 kg) and be comfortable with frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
